Wild Garden Carers

Wild Garden Carers

Would you like to be involved in restorative work in the wilder parts of Ballarat Botanical Gardens such as the wetlands, and be part of a Friends group that contributes to improving the biodiversity and fauna habitats in these areas?

A range of engagement roles are planned to include hands on planting, weeding, and monitoring. The group will work in different ways to assist with conservation, regeneration and awareness of the importance of rewilding and use of native vegetation.

Wild Garden carers is a follow on from the biodiversity group. It has been a protracted journey, but Management and Friends are very keen to evolve the group to be an important contributor to an environmentally sustainable Gardens.

  • Planting, weeding and monitoring in the wetlands.
  • Planting this Spring.
  • Engagement in learning modules on native vegetation and wetlands.
  • Work scope, materials and equipment by Curator, Donna Thomas and the Group self-managing with convenors.
  • Community connection and advocacy where appropriate.

Contact info@fbbg.org.au for more information on this new group.
